According to the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, people who spend more than six hours a day in a chair at work are 68 percent more likely to become overweight. Personal trainer Alycia Perrin shows you how to stay fit at your desk.
How to Stay Fit at Your Workplace
Dr. Travis Stork: And you think there just aren’t enough hours in a day to go to work, to take care of your family and also get to the gym. I guarantee you’re wrong.
We asked personal trainer Alycia Perrin to show us how.
Alicia Perrin: You can exercise no matter where you are or how crazy your job is. Here’s an exercise you can do.
Leg lifts, grouchy under your chair stretch out that leg, hold it for seven lower it for another 5 and that’s it.
Back Stretch and Biceps Curls you are going to place your hand on your desk, push away while head goes in between your shoulders and rest your feet on your chair and pull in slowly.
Here’s another way to sneak in exercise, while you’re waiting at the printer for that document, one legged squat. Lift one leg, slowly bend, slowly some up.
Just a 15 minute burns up and down the stairs, burns 120 calories.
How about this for an exercise, no one else know you are doing it, expand and contract your abs, do this for 10 minutes a day everyday plus throw in a few chair dips, desk push ups and you’ll better and feel better and think more clearly.
