Host: I'm joined here with Amanda Austin with an array of beautiful flowers. Now Amanda, can you tell me a little about your company.

Amanda: Well, we have two shops based on the Kings Road. One down by Wilson and the other one up in Sydney Street, and we have a big event unit.

Host: Now, look at these flowers here, I seem to see a theme of white and ivories, do you think it's always going to be a classic color for the wedding?

Amanda: Yes, always. I think the most popular color for a wedding is still green white, undoubtedly. And the next popular color is the pale pink color one. So I think 70-80% of all weddings are either white or pale pink and I think definitely that will always continue. People can understand to look sheik, you don’t have to have many classes, you always look sheik and pretty.

Host: Can you talk me through a few of the flowers you have here?

Amanda: Yeah, these are all English grown. So we have English Pansies, English Sweet Peas, English roses, some ivy, and the pansies. It's lovely, simple, little spray rose there called lovely Lydia, which I always use, because it's my twin sister is called Lydia, so we use it a lot.

Host: And I see that it's such and such quite traditionally setting in the past. They still go for the traditional?

Amanda: Well, I think so. I think people like to have something just in a posy pad in the table. Always looks a little bit dated now. So people try and find nice simple containers that work in all settings, if you are to move it from the church and into the reception area, it's quite useful to have something that’s fairly—that doesn’t shout out and say I'm doing very modern contemporary, and these silver balls really work for that.

Mirror is very good because it reflects all the light all the time everywhere.

Host: I was about to say that actually these seems to be—are these kind of like the most famous at the moment and these seems to be taking on a trend.

Amanda: They have been really, really popular because it's not the white, it's kind of white pedestals that we used to use. The nice smart cubic fiber glass. They tend to get dirty and you can't reuse them. If this gets dirty just polish it, so it can be reused over and over again, which is useful for us because they're big investment to buy. And also if you crack one, you can replace it, it's not irreplaceable. If you take a chip out on something, it's made of fiber glass, that’s it, it goes in the bin.

And I think that they're pretty and they work in both settings. We use them a lot at the English heritage buildings and at Summerset and some places like that, when we do that’s—when we do weddings there, as they now do at Summerset houses.

Host: And I guess using pieces like these, depending on the size of rooms, you could add light, you could add depth, so there's a lot more to it.

Amanda: Yes, it's lovely and up lighters too hitting across them and also, obviously as we did here with the petals. You can get color coming back up on to the pieces, to kind of reflect the color in the pieces, so it works really well. They're great.

Host: Now I see there's also a very beautiful display behind you, which we pointed to you earlier, can you talk me through this display?

Amanda: Yes, this is all pinks and creams, it's lovely. This is mostly English again. Sad with the hydrangeas aren’t to English yet, we’re little earlier the season. So these are lovely pink hydrangea. This is a sweet avalanche rose. Sweet avalanche was launched about two years ago to replace the rose that was discontinued and it's really a lovely rose and they’ve now created this wonderful spray. So you get this old fashion rose, but with the strength of the Dutch quality of flower.

And there are obviously peonies in there probably the most famous. And the little spray rose, which is the very, very highly scented one, it smells like Granny’s roses used to in the garden. So it's really popular in weddings, because you can use it in little girl’s bouquets and take a big sniff and it's fantastic. It's a great rose and is still grows wild in this country. And Eucalyptus and ivy, and all done in a secret vase within the vase, so that this is useful for somewhere they can't have any water.

We've spilled some today, but it's a no water container vase, which is useful when you’ve got to protect your floor.
