In war, you never know what’s on the other side of that door. Army Staff Sergeant David Bellavia found out the hard way when his squad entered a house full of insurgents in Fallujah, Iraq. Amid the gunfire, chaos and flying glass, someone screamed, “We’re all gonna die.” Bellavia went into overdrive, clearing the ground floor and racing upstairs, right into the barrel of a machine gun.
