    Bridge Collapses in Washington State Rescue crews are searching the Skagit River in Washington state after a bridge collapsed sending people and cars into the water below. Officials say a portion of the four lane freeway collapsed around 7 pm local time. The cause of the collapse is not immediately known, although local media say one witness said an oversized truck hit the bridge prior to the collapse.
