Suicide Bombs Target Foreigners in Kabul
An ambulance rushes to the scene of a suicide bomb attack in the Afghan capital. The morning rush hour blast targeted a convoy of vehicles carrying foreign troops through Kabul. At least 6 Afghan civilians were killed. It was not clear if any foreign forces were killed or wounded. The Hezb-e-Islami insurgent group, allied with the Taliban, claimed responsibility for the attack, telling Reuters that U.S. military advisers were the targets.

Dozens Dead in Iraq Car Bombings
Baghdad residents clean up what remains of their homes and businesses. Three people are dead after a car bomb hit a popular market area and a bus station in the al-Mashtal district of the Iraqi capital. Attacks on Shi'ite neighborhoods in Baghdad and northern Iraq killed more than 35 people and wounded dozens more Wednesday. In Baghdad's Sadr City a car bomb went off near a bus station, killing six people and wounding 19 others, while a second car bomb went off near a falafel kiosk.
